Weddings

We're getting married on Rhodes in the summer. Can you be available to photograph the whole day rather than just the ceremony?
Yes. We can be available all day from as early until as late as you want. Obviously the more notice you can give us the better because we need to book out that day in our diary. We can then be on-call to photograph the day's preparations, the ceremony itself, the reception and the fiesta.

We're both a little nervous in front of the camera. Can you make us not look too stiff and formal?
Yes. We both have years of experience working with people who have never been professionally photographed. We believe that weddings should be a happy occasion and we will work with both bride and groom to ensure that the style of photography will suit the event. Formal portraits do not have to be stiff. They need to be well lit and well framed and we strive to capture the atmosphere of both the location and the day itself.

Can you video our wedding?
We both believe that video and stills photography are two separate disciplines. A lot of wedding photographers promise professional quality video diaries but this is rarely the case. We would always recommend that you hire dedicated experts. Gallery Photography always uses 2 professional photographers to capture every wedding from all angles. We use medium format digital equipment for the official portraits and digital SLR to shoot around the wedding in a more reportage style. This means that every aspect of your wedding will be beautifully and professionally captured.

How can we see our wedding photographs?
Once we have processed all the images we can either visit your hotel after the event and let you pick a selection of prints or you can leave the choice to us. These can then be mounted in a dedicated wedding album at no extra cost. We also do not charge for a disk of every image for you to take home.

Some family members and friends could not make it to our wedding. How can they see the photographs?
Gallery Photography can build and host a dedicated page within our website which anybody can access remotely. We can provide a URL for this page which you simply type into your browser in order to view a selection of images from your wedding. We keep this page active for 3 months.

Locations

Why can't I take a photograph of my property on a mobile phone?
You can. Then again you wouldn't use a camera to make a phone call. We use state of the art Phase One medium format digital equipment and dedicated architectural lenses.

Why?
The camera ensures we can photograph any location under extremes of lighting conditions with no loss of image quality. The lenses mean that we can fit more of your property or business into the photograph.

My property is a pre-renovated bomb site. Can you make it look like a palace?
We can try. Cameras may never lie but they can bend perception. As long as your property is generally clean then Gallery Photography can work around any unsightly areas.

How can I see the end results?
We deliver a comprehensive selection of both high resolution and web optimised images on a disk. In addition we can also hand print images to individual client requirements. Please refer to the Print Service FAQs below for further information.

Web Design

What is a domain name?
A domain name is the name you give your web site i.e. www.gallery-photography.net. Once you have purchased it you can think of it as the name of your own virtual "house".

What is hosting?
Hosting is the place where your "house lives" in the virtual world of the internet. You pay rent for that space to enable others to "visit" your "house".

Why do I need a web site?
A business of any size needs advertising to reach new customers. The world wide web is just one avenue of advertising, along with magazines, flyers, banners and television. As more people around the world become internet enabled it is possible to reach more and more people through this medium of advertising.

Can you update my site for me on a regular basis?
Yes we can. All you will need to do is e-mail or telephone us with your site changes and we will implement them asap.

Print Services and Graphics

I can make my own prints on my desk top computer. Why do I need Gallery Photography?
Most desk top printers are not designed to produce bulk quantity photographs and graphics without sacrificing image quality and colour. We use professional quality Epson machines, inks and papers to ensure every image is sharp and vivid.

What exactly can you print?
We can hand print photographs in a variety of sizes ranging from B6 (postcard) to A2. We out-source larger prints as well as commercial business cards, flyers, posters and menus to one of the premier print houses on Rhodes. We can also help source more specialised advertising mediums such as on-street A boards, large format photographic slides and logo placement.

Why do you out-source cards and flyers, etc?
Our Epson Pro equipment is dedicated photographic print machinery. It simply would not be cost-effective for us to print commercial advertising products. In order to maintain our high standards of quality and competitive pricing we find that designing templates in-house and then out-sourcing these templates for bulk-printing is by far the most preferable and reliable option.

Can you print my holiday snaps from a digital camera?
Yes. We can print a selection of your photographs in a variety of ways. We can either upload images directly from your camera (if compatible), upload from your memory card or transfer your images onto a memory stick via your camera's USB port. We can then print and return your photographs or simply transfer them directly onto a CD for you to print at your convenience.
